Each letter is shaped and glazed by hand in my studio, so no two pieces are exactly the same. They are approximately 9cm tall and made in small batches. Because they are handmade with care, they take around four to six weeks to complete.
Every letter goes through the full ceramic process from start to finish. It is sculpted, refined, dried, fired, glazed and then fired again. The slight variations in colour and texture are part of the character of handmade ceramics.
The letters come ready to hang with 3M Velcro adhesive strips and small indents in the back so they sit flush against the wall. It is an easy and secure way to arrange them, and you can reposition them as your space changes from nursery to kids room.
